Landlords are stepping up to take part in a new city program to house London’s homeless after the effort initially drew no response.

The city is funding a pilot project to sign leases for those who can’t afford them, taking on responsibility for behaviour and cleanliness in rental units to help house people who would otherwise be turned away.
