Cambridge youth shelter gets $492K grant to help prevent homelessness
A Cambridge organization dedicated to keeping young adults out of homelessness has received a $492,000 provincial grant to study success rates of a new homeless prevention and diversion program.
Argus Residence for Young People will be allocating the funds for its new A Path to Home: A New Approach to Youth Homelessness Prevention and Shelter Diversion. The two-year initiative will evaluate impacts of new strategies to reduce homelessness by co-ordinating access to housing and support services for those between the ages of 16 and 29.
Evidence-based best practices collected at the end of the evaluation project will be used to direct future poverty reduction strategies in Ontario.
