Rural Transportation Working Group seeks public input on three-part transit plan
Back in 2015, a pilot rural transportation project in the City of Kawartha Lakes ultimately went off the rails.
But, a group of stakeholders are hoping to bring back an expanded form of rural transportation.
Mike Perry and Tina Jackson are co-chairs of the Rural Transportation Working Group, part of the Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton Poverty Reduction Roundtable. He says rural transportation is crucial for people without vehicles to get to work, their children to daycare, medical appointments, shopping and school.
