The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is looking at ways to provide more affordable housing options to residents.

But, community input is wanted before any final decisions are made.

“It’s definitely to try to address affordable housing,” Chatham-Kent’s chief legal officer John Norton said.

He said low-income residents have difficulty affording the rent on a house or an apartment.

“Many people on disability pensions or perhaps on Ontario Works . . . they might just want to rent a room,” Norton said.
