A rally against poverty on the steps of city hall is coming a bit earlier this year.

The annual Stand Up Against Poverty Rally hosted by the Poverty Reduction Network of Sarnia-Lambton is typically held the Friday before Oct.17, the United Nations International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

But with voting in Sarnia’s municipal election set for Oct. 11-22, the rally can’t fit into its normal timeslot, said Karen Mathewson, chairperson of the network.
