Windsor West MPP Lisa Gretzky is urging Premier Kathleen Wynne to help Ontario families who are dealing with poverty.

This push comes after the Daily Bread Food Bank revealed grim numbers about food bank use in Toronto. According to the report, Scarborough families are attending food banks 30 per cent more frequently, and on average, visitors are using food banks for longer periods of time, with the length of dependence doubling this year to 24 months.

Also, Statistics Canada recently announced poverty has reached crisis levels in many cities throughout Ontario, with Windsor first on the list of cities with low-income families.

Gretzky says the Liberals have failed these families and the Conservatives have not stepped up to the plate regarding the issue of poverty in the province
