The Brock Mission got its first donation toward the $1-million campaign that will fund the construction of a new shelter.

Drew Merrett, owner of Merrett Home Hardware Building Centre, contributed $2,000 towards the campaign.

The Brock Mission announced Merrett’s support at his building centre on Lansdowne St. Wednesday.

As a board member of the local Canadian Mental Health Association, Merrett said homelessness, mental health and addiction are top of mind.
